Are you socially acceptable?
I am currently enrolled in a class that is helping me stay “socially acceptable” in all forms of new media, http://newmediadl.com
I feel that I am a few steps closer to being socially acceptable in this world of new media. Virtually everything is moving to the interactive web and with the job market still looking shady I am positive that this Social media class is going to help me promote myself in positive ways through social media to land me a job!
In this class we are learning how to stay relevant in a fast paced online world. One major tip that I have taken from this class is to WORK HARDER. This may seem like a very obvious one but it has really spoken to me. There is always someone who will be better than me, but I have the ability to work harder and get where I want to be. We are living in a time where finding a job requires on to think outside the box.
This week in my social media class I am learning about Search engine optimization. Because I already have a blog of my own, I realize the importance of SEO. After much research on SEO I have come up with easy and useful steps to optimize a webpage. The most important thing is to know your target audience. One must have a clear and concise view of what their site is about and know the kinds of people that will be using the site. The next imperative step is to choose the right keywords, descriptive words and phrases that will give your site relevancy. Another key step is to write a compelling title tag. If you start with these three steps you are well on your way to keep relevant.
If you are like most of us and feel overwhelmed by all that things that new media has to offer, I would highly recommend taking a class. This class has opened my eyes! http://newmediadl.com
